In a tweet on Sunday, Raila said he is headed to India, and will be visiting several other nations.
"Baba has left the country for a week's visit to several nations starting with India; see you all when I’m back. Meanwhile, can William Ruto & Kenya Kwanza stop it with the lamentations?" he wrote in a tweet.
His communications director Dennis Onyango had earlier said that Raila is headed to India, where he will be for the next 10 days.
In India, Onyango said, Raila will attend to personal matters and also have official engagements with business leaders focusing on Africa’s Infrastructure Development.
“Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga has left the country for India to attend to personal matters and have official engagements with various players in his capacity as AU Infrastructure High Representative for Africa," Onyango said in a statement.
"While in India, Mr. Odinga will visit the cities of Hyderabad and Trivandrumis for meetings with business leaders with interests in Africa’s infrastructure development,” he added.
Raila's trip comes days after he held talks with India's new High Commissioner to Kenya, Namgya Khampa.
"The strong bond and ties between our nations formed the core of our discussion as we hosted India's new High Commissioner to Kenya, Namgya Khampa. We wish her all the best as she begins her tour of duty in Nairobi," he said after meeting the High Commissioner on October 14.
