RMS Vice Chair Gathoni Macharia receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Services (RMS) Vice Chairperson Purity Gathoni Macharia has received the Lifetime
Achievement Award during this year’s AllAfrica Media Leaders’ Summit.

Director Dr. Tendai Mhizha, in a joint letter, stated that Mrs. Macharia was
recognised for her unparalleled contribution to news media development.
“Your pioneering work, dedication, and
unwavering commitment to excellence have not only shaped the landscape of
journalism in Kenya but have also set a standard of integrity and
professionalism that will continue to inspire the industry for generations,”
they stated.
“Your impact on the development of Royal
Media Services by creating and delivering content for TV and radio content in
vernacular languages to all corners of Kenya is immeasurable, and your legacy
is a testament to your passion for truth, storytelling, and the power of
communication.”
The award was picked up on Mrs. Macharia’s
behalf by RMS Events Manager Renee Makau during the summit held at a Nairobi
hotel on Thursday evening.
The RMS Vice Chair, in an acceptance speech
read by Renee, stated: “I am deeply humbled and profoundly moved by this
Lifetime Achievement Award. To be recognised by esteemed peers and colleagues
is an honour that resonates, not just through my career, but through the very
core of my personal ethos.
Royal Media Services has been more than just
a workplace for me; it has been a garden where my passion for media and communication
has been nurtured. A platform where I’ve had the opportunity to inform, educate
and entertain our beloved audiences.”
