Six-year-old pupil found dead, body stashed under church pulpit in Kisii

Police in Kisii have commenced investigations
after the body of 6-year-old pupil was on Friday found stashed under a church's
pulpit in Keumbu.
According Amasago area Assistant Chief Ben Onchungu,
the body was discovered at around 12pm under Keumbu Catholic outdoor altar with
marks on the neck that police say could have been caused by strangulation.
The deceased’s mother, Rose Kemunto, said her
son left home for Amasago Primary School in the morning but never actually arrived
in class, only to later be found dead within the institution’s compound under
unclear circumstances.
The body of the deceased was later taken to the
Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting an autopsy.
Locals have pleaded with the authorities to
expedite investigations into the matter for justice to be served.
