Man chops off step brother's hand over land dispute in Bungoma

Oscar Wafula admitted at Bungoma Referral Hospital after his hand was chopped by a step brother.

A 34-year-old man from the Sangalo village in Bungoma County is nursing serious injuries at the Bungoma Referral Hospital after his hand was chopped off.

Oscar Wafula was allegedly attacked by his stepbrother, cutting off part of his left hand.

The two had a dispute over a piece of land.

DCI officials have now launched an investigation into the incident, seeking to establish the ownership of the land in question.

In the hospital ward, Wafula appears to be in pain, having to roll over in bed, a situation he says he did not expect.

Phamenasi Simani, the nurse in charge of the ward says the patient is now doing better than the day he was admitted.

Wafula wants police officers dealing with the case to speed up the investigation as his life is in danger.
