Football Kenya Federation Division One side Compel FC have shifted their sights on securing a promotion slot to the National Super League.
Compel saw their
ambitions of making inroads in the FKF Cup go up in smoke, after they exited at
the Round of 64, and they have now shifted their goal to the league, with an
improve campaign in the division a target as they eye a slot in the league’s second-tier competition next term.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, head coach Mutimba made it clear they have lined
up several friendly matches, to keep the squad competitive ahead of the
decisive fixtures.
“Our goal is promotion, and we will keep
pushing until the final day of the season,” he said, expressing confidence in
his players’ determination and
consistency. "We are going to play
a medium level friendly just to keep the players fitness level intact and
maintain the current momentum.”
Compel sit in second place in Zone D with
34 points. They trail league leaders Mfalme FC by just one point, although the
table-toppers have played one match more. This narrow gap keeps the title race
wide open and firmly within Compel’s reach.
As the season enters a crucial phase, all
eyes will be on Mutimba’s men to see whether they can sustain their strong form
and ultimately secure a coveted spot in the NSL.
