Equity Dumas head coach Joseph Lubarov has lauded his side’s defensive discipline and growing team chemistry following a successful weekend in the Kenya National Men’s Basketball Premier League.

His sentiments come ahead of their sixth match of the season tomorrow against Umoja at Nyayo Gymnasium.

The bankers secured two crucial away victories, first edging past Eldonets Platinum 61-54 in Eldoret before grinding out a 50-45 win against Lakeside in Kisumu.

“I was really proud of our defensive effort. I thought we executed our system very well on that end of the floor,” said Lubarov.

Despite the wins, the tactician admitted there is still room for improvement, particularly in attack.

“Offensively, I still believe we have room to improve. One of the biggest positives has been the change in our body language, the guys are staying together much better, and that’s huge for us,” he added.

Lubarov also pointed to the impact of the team’s positive mindset, noting that results have helped reinforce unity within the squad.

“Winning always helps with that, of course. We’ve remained positive, we’re showing consistent improvement, and I don’t expect that to slow down.”

The Dumas have so far played five matches, winning two and losing three and are currently fourth on the table with seven points, three points behind league leaders Nairobi City Thunder.

The back-to-back victories underline Equity Dumas’ growing momentum as they look to establish themselves as serious contenders this season.
