A win for either side guarantees them the title and Equity head coach Peter Mwathi is keen on strolling past the reigning champions, although acknowledges that they will have to be on top of their game.
The veteran coach says they have their work cut out but they have prepared well to take on the champions.
"It is a game that will be a hard nut to crack because NCPB will bring their A game and we have to prepare for the task which we have done. We have studied them well, the morale is high in the camp and it is a match we have to win," Mwathi told Citizen Digital.
The two sides drew in an exhilarating league clash last season before Equity reigned supreme in Super cup and Mwathi remains bullish of thumping the Cereals again to edge closer to their maiden title.
Both sides remain unbeaten having tossed past Ulinzi, another title rival who will require a miracle to lift it.
Mwathi knows there will be no shortcut and they'll have to upset the champions to keep their dream alive.
"We are in a position to win the league and we have beaten them before. We are confident and we have what it takes to beat them and lift the title."
The national team head coach has also praised his strength and conditioning coach for his incredible job in helping his side have the agility that is required to win physical and intense matches.
His counterpart Bryan Mathews is also confident they will defend their title after leaving it late to win it against Ulinzi in last season's climactic finale.
"It is a do or die game and we have to get everything right to win and defend our title. We are prepared and I'm confident we shall win," said Matthews.
NCPB currently top the log on 46 points after 23 matches, two ahead of Equity who have played a match less.
Another thrilling match tomorrow will see third placed Ulinzi confront the General Service Unit.
In the women's league, defending champions Ulinzi Sharks who have the title to lose, will clash with a trick Daystar University on Sunday.
