Former Harambee Stars Jacob Ghost Mulee has questioned the composition of the caretaker committee formed by CS Amina Mohammed to run football affairs in Kenya.

According to Ghost, caretakers should be people who understand football, its stakeholders and how the game works.

“Football has been disrespected, some of the people in the caretaker committee don’t have a clue about football; and football is a profession. I have never seen a doctors’ problem being solved by a carpenter.”

The caretaker Committee appointed by the CS includes former Rugby administrators Mwangi Muthee and Richard Omwela; and is chaired by Aaron Ringera a Judge.  It also includes a Retired General, civil servants and a former KFF Vice President in Titus Kasuve.

“Do they understand FIFA, the intricacies of Kenyan football?"

Ghost is also worried about the direction of football in the country and the possibility of a FIFA ban on Kenya.

“I am perturbed because when government interferes a ban is what follows and the truth it is while football has many stakeholders it is the players that will suffer the most. No player will be able to leave the country and those who are abroad won’t be able to move,” the coach explained.

“And it’s not just players’ we really have a lot to lose. There are coaches in class now what happens to them and our international referees will have no chance to officiate at Qatar 20222.”

Kenya will also suffer from being banned from international matches.

“Gor Mahia and Tusker are waiting to play international matches next week. The Harambee Starlets are about to qualify for the African Women’s Cup of Nations. We will lose of all these opportunities. “
