The 2026 Girls’ High School 15s Nationals will be held from April 6 to 10 at Maseno School in Kisumu County, marking the return of the competition after its last edition in 2024.
This year’s tournament is significant as Girls’ Rugby Fifteens will feature officially in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Term One Games for the first time since 2024.
The event will bring together eight top teams, seeded based on their performances in previous competitions.
The teams have been divided into two pools. Pool A consists of Saint Joseph’s Kitale, Paul Harris, Kinale Girls, and Sidindi. Pool B includes Mbagathi Girls, Mwira Girls, Sigoti Girls, and Saint Teresa Embu.
Mbagathi Girls qualified as Nairobi regional champions after defeating Karen C Girls 34-0.
Mwira Girls secured the Western region title with a 7-3 win over Kimobo Secondary. Kinale Girls and Paul Harris also booked their places as Central and Coast champions respectively.
In the Rift Valley region, Itigo Girls stood out during qualifiers with a 46-0 win over Ngecho Girls, highlighting their strong form heading into the national stage.
The tournament will follow a pool format, with teams competing for places in the knockout rounds.
It is expected to provide a platform for emerging talent and contribute to the growth of girls’ rugby at the school level.
Matches will be played over the five-day period, with the final set to determine the national champions in the newly recognized category.
