Speaking at their residential training camp in Miramas - France, Humwa said they have been studying their opponents keenly and they are aware a formidable defense will be crucial for their progress.
Humwa, who will be competing in his second Olympic Games also noted that the debutants who make the big part of the squad have exhibited admirable mental strength ahead of the Paris fiesta.
“It is a tough pool with very strong teams so we have been working on our defense to make sure that we are in perfect shape ahead of the games. So far all is going on well.
“They (the debutants) are really learning the game very fast and improving each day. They are disciplined and willing to learn from the experienced ones and that is very important for the team,” added Humwa.
Kenya is pooled alongside Samoa, Argentina and Australia, and Humwa knows the importance of fans’ support if they are to cruise past the global giants.
“Apart from the home teams, everywhere we go we are the most cheered team in the world. I’m therefore urging our fans to turn up in large numbers and support our team. That always gives us something extra to keep fighting on,” stated the Kenya Harlequins captain.
The team will shift camp from Miramas on Friday (today) to the capital - Paris ahead of the games kick off next Friday.
