Ingwe@60: President Ruto endorses Leopards plans to go corporate, donates Sh10m
President William Ruto Wednesday threw his weight behind AFC Leopards' plans to go corporate, advising the club’s officials to transform the stable
into a self-sustaining and profitable organization.
The president made the remarks at state house when he received the club’s delegation to brief him about the
ongoing Ingwe@60 anniversary celebrations.
The President, who also instructed government officials to ensure the club possesses the ‘long overdue
‘parcel of land at Kasarani in Nairobi, rewarded the club with Sh 10 million
to meet budgetary needs.
Present among others was the Sports CS Ababu Namwamba
who sided with the president and promised to support the club’s turnaround.
Others were club chairman Dan Shikanda, club patron Alex
Muteshi and Ingwe@60 chairman Elder Vincent Shimoli, among others.
The highlight of AFC Leopards 60th Anniversary will be the
unveiling of the club's Corporate agenda, dubbed 'AFC Incorp24' during the two-week
long anniversary period ending on March 24, 2024.
The club’s former CEO, Richard Ekhalie is spearheading the
initiative in conjunction with the outfit’s NEC and key stakeholders.
The corporate Ingwe will eradicate archaic patronage based
structure for a PLC attractive to serious investors.
Members of the club will also get a chance to invest and own
the club they love.
