Kibet, who was named the Most Valuable Player in this year's National Secondary Schools Ball Games after helping St. Antony’s Kitale to clinch the national title, says the team is determined to make the country proud.
The team flies to Kisumu from Nairobi Thursday afternoon, ahead of the regional championship kickoff.
“We have trained very well, there is proper bonding among the players for the few days we have been together and now we are ready for the competition," said Kibet.
The Salim Babu coached team left Nairobi today, for the two-week football fiesta with Kibet warning their Saturday’s opponents Sudan, to brace for a fierce battle at the Mamboleo Stadium - Kisumu.
“We will take every game as a final. We are not going to undermine any team, we have to put everything in order and be perfect in very department. If we can do that we will be sure of success," added Kibet.
The Spain based Nastic Soccer Academy player has also called on the fans rally behind them, as they fight for the regional title.
“We want to make Kenyans proud and the only way is to win matches, get to the final and win the title. That is why we want them to come in large numbers and support the team,” Kibet urged Kenyans
Group A matches will be played in Kisumu at Mamboleo Stadium while group B matches will take place at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
