Kenyan international Pistone Mutamba wants to keep
putting in the work following his impressive start to life as a Himalayan
Sherpa player.
He scored a brace on Saturday to lead his side to a
3-1 victory over Chyasal Youth during their Martyr's Memorial Division A-League
match and was voted Man of the Match.
Those two strikes took his league goals tally to five
in just four appearances but the former Sofapaka FC player believes there is more
to come as he continues to adapt to Nepali life.
“My coach and teammates have been very supportive since
I arrived and that has helped me settle quicker. I feel at home with the kind of warm welcome I’ve
received here.
“Since I arrived we’re now into the top five in the
league and my ambition is to keep playing my part in helping the team. Hopefully
at the end of the season we’ll be at our highest position possible,” Mutamba
said.
He added his focus is not on individual honours but
said he would consider it a successful first season if he finished among the
top scorers.
The industrious attacker had been club-less since
August 2021 when he opted to terminate his contract with Sofapaka following
his long unpaid dues. He later decided to join Sharpa in November 2021, to
rebuild his career.
Sharpa who plays the Napalese top-flight league, are
currently fifth on log with eight points, six shy from the previous break.
