Mathare Women United will be aiming to extend their impressive run of
form when they take on Hildana Queens in a National Super League (NSL)
clash this weekend.
The league leaders have been in
scintillating form in the second leg of the season and are now chasing a
sixth consecutive victory, a feat that would further solidify their
dominance at the summit of the table.
Speaking to Citizen
Digital ahead of the meeting, head of the meeting, head coach Ann Aluoch
has expressed confidence in her squad’s readiness, noting that her
players have prepared adequately despite expecting a tough challenge
from their opponents.
Aluoch also acknowledged that Hildana
Queens will provide stiff competition, underlining the importance of
focus and discipline if her side is to maintain their winning momentum.
"They
are a good side, placed fifth on the log means they are not an easy
side. The team has good players both physically and technically, so we
have to prepare well for the particular match, but our last win will
drive us," she said.
Mathare head into the fixture buoyed by a
convincing 2-0 win over Diani Queens in their previous outing. According
to the coach, that result has significantly boosted morale within the
squad as they continue their push for promotion and league success.
After
16 matches, Mathare Women United sit comfortably at the top of the
standings with 43 points. They hold a commanding 12-point lead over
second-placed AFC Leopardess, underlining their consistency throughout
the campaign.
With momentum firmly on their side, Mathare Women
United will be eager to maintain their unbeaten run and edge closer to
their season ambitions when they face Hildana Queens in what promises to
be a competitive showdown.
