With only one match left to the end of the current campaign, the soldiers are second on the log with 39 points, three shy of the leaders Kenya Police bullets who have two matches in hand, making it impossible for them to overtake the law enforcers.
Ochieng has rallied on her charges to instead concentrate on winning the FKF Cup for the fourth time in a row.
“We were focused on winning the FKF Premier League but for now no miracle can happen and we have to accept second position. Our full focus now shifts to the FKF Cup where we want to win it for the fourth time. The cup will also enable us to tap talents from teams taking part in lower leagues.”
In the FKF Cup draw on April 29, Ulinzi were paired with TUK Ravens in their opening fixture.
The soldiers won the 2024 edition after thumping Kibera Soccer Ladies 2-1 in the final held at Police Sacco Stadium Grounds on July 10, thanks to Sheryl Angachi and Linda Kihara goals.
The preliminary round will also see Gaspo face Kibera Soccer Women, Barcelona Ladies take on Bungoma Queens, Thika Starlets clash with Kenya Police, as Marine Queens play Zetech Sparks.
Group winners will progress to the round of 16 with the preliminary round slated to kick off this weekend.
“We have been paired with TUK Ravens, a team we respect much and such teams always want to prove that they are strong when playing against a big team,” added Ochieng.
