Hawkers in Eldoret, have staged demonstrations over alleged harassment by the Uasin Gishu County askaris.
Speaking to Citizen Digital the traders said they were given the green light to go about their business by the previous county administration.
"Our goods have been confiscated by the county askaris. We are taking issue with the authorities since they conduct raids at night when we are not around," a trader said.
The hawkers have urged the current county leadership to address their woes.
"It is only fair that they come up with better measures of addressing issues affecting traders. We have lost property and we now have to go back to the drawing board," another trader noted.
