Man arrested for killing his father in Makueni County

Police in Makueni County are holding a middle-aged man accused of killing his father.

Witnesses said the suspect attacked his father after he was confronted for selling beans belonging to the old man, identified as Nashon Mutie.

Mukaa Sub-county Police Commander Barnabas Ng'eno said the suspect, Simon Mutie, is in custody over his father’s death.

Investigators have narrowed down on the probe to Nzaini village in Kitaingo located in Mukaa Sub County.

“The suspect lived with his father. He has however been stealing from the old man. The theft of the beans in question led to a confrontation,” a resident said.

Further reports indicate that the suspect not only stole but also sold the beans. An argument ensued and the suspect hit his father with a blunt object.

Mutie's lifeless body was found in the compound lying in a pool of blood.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Salama police station as investigations continue.

The body was moved to Kilungu Hospital morgue.
