One killed in an accident at Cheptais, Bungoma County

One person has died in an accident at Cheptais, Bungoma County.
Cheptais OCPD Jesse Mwakiria said at least 39 others were injured during the incident.
The accident happened at Kona Mbaya area near Chesikaki market in Mt Elgon Constituency.
"At least forty passengers were on board the vehicle which was from neighboring Uganda," Mwakiria told Citizen Digital.
The accident which happened near Chesikaki market involved a bus belonging to Green Line company.
"We visited the scene of the accident and towed the vehicle to Chesikaki police station, " he added.
Meanwhile, police have launched investigations to establish the cause of the incident.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Cheptais sub county hospital and Spikers private hospital.
