Two children drown in a river in Nyamache, Kisii County

Two children have drowned in a river in Kisii County.

The two cousins, a one-and-a-half-year-old and a 4-year-old, drowned in River Omogonga in Nyamache.

Police from Nyamache led the search for the bodies of the two following the tragic incident.

"The two had gone to play near the river before drowning," a resident told Citizen Digital.

Their bodies were retrieved at least 3 kilometers from their home in Bokinami village.

Bodies of the two have been taken to Nyamache mortuary as investigations continue.
