Two suspected gangsters have been killed by police in Embu County.
Embu West Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Julius Kyubule confirmed the incident saying the two are believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorizing residents at Mwara Centre in Njukiri, Embu West.
"We are searching for three suspected members of the gang who escaped the dragnet," Kyubule told Citizen Digital.
Police recovered stolen goods such as assorted alcoholic drinks, gas cylinders, shoes among other items.
"Last night, a local bar was raided by armed gunmen. We feared for our lives after getting wind of the robbery. We are glad some of the gang members were rounded up," a resident said.
The incident comes amid a spate in cases of home break-ins. Bodies of the two suspects have been taken to Embu Level Five Hospital Mortuary.
