Tragedy in Kisii as man kills aunt, injures cousin in brutal attack

A 24-year-old man from Kisii County is in critical condition after allegedly attacking his aunt and cousin in a violent incident reported in Menyinkwa area, Kiamabundu sub-location.

According to the report from the area chief, the suspect - identified as Felix Onyambu - is said to have attacked his aunt, 48-year-old Gladys Nyanchama, who later succumbed to her injuries. Her daughter 28 years also sustained serious head injuries during the attack.

An enraged mob descended on the suspect, leaving him with severe injuries before authorities arrived.

Both the injured daughter and the suspect are receiving treatment at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Area Chief Isaac Johnson, Assistant Chief John Ondande, and police officers from Kisii central police station responded promptly and secured the scene as investigations begin.
