Kithure Kindiki: I am worth Ksh.544 million

Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary nominee Prof. Kithure Kindiki has told the Parliamentary Committee of Appointments that he is worth Ksh.544 million.

Appearing before the committee for vetting on Tuesday, Kindiki said that his sources of income include law practice, businesses and consultancy.

“My Net worth is Ksh.544 million. At the moment I am an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, I practice law. I am also a business person running a number of SMEs and I am also a consultant for local and international organisations,” Kindiki told the committee chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.

He said that the Ksh.544million is made up of land and buildings that are worth around Ksh.165 million and bank deposits of about Ksh.50 million, investments in shares and deposits at 5 different Saccos.

The former Tharaka Nithi Senator joins a list of 5 other Cabinet nominees who have declared their wealth before the parliamentary committee.

On Monday, Prime Cabinet Secretary Nominee Musalia Mudavadi was first to face the vetting panel, where he disclosed that his net worth is Ksh.4 billion.

He was followed by Attorney General Nominee Justin Muturi who said he is worth Ksh.700million and Defence Cabinet Secretary Nominee Aden Duale who said he is worthKsh.851 million.

Others were foreign affairs CS nominee Alfred Mutua who is worth Ksh.420 million and Water and Sanitation CS nominee Alice Wahome who said she is worth Ksh.218million
