Ogolla opines the league has become a one-team show due to lack of proper structures in other clubs as well as financial constraints bedevilling most outfits in the country.

The record-champions are now one win away from an unprecedented 21st title win and they need to defeat Muhoroni Youth on Sunday to achieve that feat with three matches spare.

“Lack of (serious) competitors has helped Gor dominate the scene with much ease and that is something that is affecting our league. The other teams need to strategize and offer some checks to Gor or else they will be dominated for a long time.

“They should be taking stock of their performances at the end of season and ask themselves what Gor is doing to shine, and then invest on it.”

K’Ogalo have ruled the local scene since 2013 with Tusker FC interrupting their streak only in 2016 and 2021, and are on verge of a record-extending 21 gong, currently topping the table standings on 64 points, 10 above second placed Police FC.

“I also challenge Gor to replicate this form at the continental level because no need to dominate in Kenya then be knocked out at preliminary rounds in African football. It will look bad on us and our league’s credibility would be questioned,” he added.

Ogolla also weighed in on the issue of Harambee Stars hosting their matches away from home, saying they would be denied the 12th man for lack of a fan base support.

“The twelfth man means a lot in such matches and that is something the federation should have thought out well before taking the game to Malawi.  I hope that won’t affect the players but the fans will be missed big time,” said the former Kenyan international defender.

The crucial 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Group F football fixtures against Burundi and reigning African champions Ivory Coast will now take place at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on June 8 and 11, due to the lack of a FIFA-approved stadium in Kenya.
